In April, I was invited to give a talk on the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising for the Museum of Jewish Heritage in New York City. This online event, was very well attended and I'm so glad I got to share the new findings of our team at POLIN Museum. This talk draws upon the work of two researchers in particular, Prof. Barbara Engelking and Zuzanna Schnepf-Kołacz. They are the authors of POLIN Museum's temporary exhibition, "Around Us a Sea of Fire," telling the story of civilians during the 1943 Warsaw Ghetto Uprising.
Jewish resistance during the Holocaust is an extremely important topic, partly because it highlights the struggle of forgotten people who refused to bend to the will of the German extermination plans.
